The Akan system of worship. Is not so different form the Yoruba system of worship. We have deities that do the same work that is found in the Yoruba system. I am a priest of Atenga which is a Northern diety from Ghana or Burkino Faso. The most popular and first diety to come to the us from Ghana is Asuo Gyebi. He is a healer and has many priest in America. Our religious ceremonies are called Akoms. During this time we sing and dance to invoke the spirit. which gives messages of hope and inspiration to its practitioners. We don't have devotees as they do in the Yoruba system. Thers more but this is a start. Let me know what your specific question is and maybe i can help with that.
